GigaMare helps shipowners, managers, and crewing teams secure Electro-Technical Officers trained for real vessel systems, documented for STCW compliance.
THE PROBLEM WE SOLVE - Finding qualified ETOs is getting harder
Technical readiness gap
Certification alone does not guarantee hands-on familiarity with automation, control systems, high-voltage equipment, and OEM platforms used onboard.
Compliance and documentation risk
Incomplete competency records and weak practical evidence can create avoidable friction during onboarding, inspections, and internal audits.
Fleet-fit mismatch
From crew culture onboard, standard technical background and experience, practical technical exposure, to the know-how on fleet-specific onboard systems; the demand is fastly changing and varies from one fleet to another.
Commercial impact
The result is re-training cost, slower deployment, inconsistent performance, and unnecessary operational risk.
HOW WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE - GigaMare's Credentials you can use to your Advantage
MARINA
MARINA full course approval — one of five.
Only five institutions in the Philippines hold complete MARINA ETO course approval under STCW Circular 2018-02. GigaMare is one and is a pioneer in the program way back 2015.
WARTSILA
Wärtsilä-authorised training partner.
Official training partner of Wärtsilä product courses in the Philippines. Your ETOs could have the technical exposure to maker-specific systems for both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
ISO
ISO 9001 certified.
Quality management system independently verified. Training processes are documented, audited, and consistently delivered.
HANDS-ON FACILITY
Purpose-built campus, operational since 2003.
Originally Wärtsilä's own training infrastructure. Dedicated maritime campus in Subic Bay Freeport Zone — a purpose-built 5-hectare training campus with buildable areas. The campus houses real cut-away engines, OEM simulators, and practical electrical laboratories. Cadets train beyond theory, with exposure to automation, control systems, electrical systems, and selected OEM platforms used in modern fleets.
IMEC
IMEC-selected partner — from 2025 till the present programme.
Chosen by the International Maritime Employers' Council alongside three other Philippine providers to deliver its global ETO programme in 2026. GigaMare was one of the two pioneer partner providers way back 2025.
WINGD
WinGD-authorised training centre.
Your ETOs could have technical exposure on WinGD UNIC systems — the control platform on a significant portion of the world's two-stroke fleet.
IMCA & SGMF
IMCA and SGMF member.
Membership in the offshore and gas fuel supply associations — relevant for LNG, offshore support, and energy sector operators.
EU APPROVAL
Finnish Traficom approval — GigaMare Europe
The only Philippine ETO programme approved by an EU maritime administration. ETOs can be certified for Finnish-flag and EU-affiliated operators.
